An Update to How You Hear From APES

07.02.26 10:08 AM - By Media Team

We’re making some important improvements behind the scenes to ensure you can more easily stay informed about the work of Association of Protecting Exotic Species CIC (APES)—and only receive the updates that matter most to you.

This update affects how our mailing lists and newsletters are managed, and we’d like to explain what’s changing and what you need to know.

What’s changing?

We’ve upgraded our mailing list system to give supporters, members, and partners greater choice and control over the communications they receive from us.

As part of this change, APES Newsroom (apesnews.org.uk) will be closed down over the next few weeks. Once closed, it will automatically redirect visitors to our main APES mailing list sign-up page, making it simpler to find and manage subscriptions in one place.

Where to find APES mailing lists now

Mailing lists are now managed directly through each APES service website, so you can subscribe to the updates most relevant to you:

  • apes.org.uk – organisational news, campaigns, policy updates, and education

  • apesshelter.org.uk – rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming stories, volunteering, and appeals

  • apespetcare.org.uk – preventative care guidance, seasonal advice, and clinic updates

  • myapes.me.uk – member services, platform updates, and account guidance

You can also view all available APES mailing lists in one place here:

For businesses, educators & organisations

If you’re signing up on behalf of a business, educational institution, or organisation, we’ve created a dedicated option just for you.

Please use our enterprise mailing list here:

This helps us tailor information more appropriately and keep communications relevant and useful.

Weekly APES newsletters

Alongside these changes, we’re pleased to introduce weekly APES newsletters.

These will bring together highlights from across APES and our services, including:

  • Latest news and campaign updates

  • Education and welfare guidance

  • Opportunities to get involved, support, or learn more

Our aim is to keep you informed without overwhelming your inbox.

You’re always in control

We believe communication should work for you.

At the bottom of every APES email, you’ll always have the option to:

  • Unsubscribe, or

  • Manage your subscription preferences, so you only receive the updates you want

If you’re unsure which mailing list is right for you, or if you need any help at all, just get in touch—we’re always happy to help.

Thank you for your support

Your continued interest and support make a real difference to the protection, welfare, and education surrounding exotic species.

Thank you for being part of the APES community 💚
