Big Things Are Coming to APES – Here’s What You Need to Know

17.02.2026 05:12 PM - By Media Team

At APES, standing still simply is not an option.

As we continue strengthening infrastructure across APES CIC and its divisions, we are preparing to launch and update several key platforms and programmes designed to expand our educational impact, improve accessibility, and deliver measurable welfare outcomes.

Here is what is coming next.

🔬 APES Science – Where Evidence Leads

We are developing APES Science, an exclusive new website dedicated entirely to Exotic Animal Science.

This is not a blog.

This is not general interest content.

This is structured, science-led publishing.

What to expect:

  • Research reports

  • Scientific papers

  • Technical briefings

  • Species-specific studies

  • Venom analysis

  • Comparative anatomy

  • Welfare science and behavioural research

If your interest is evidence-based exotic animal knowledge, this is your platform.

Subscription: From £3 per month

Launch date: To be confirmed

We are building this carefully. When we launch, it will be ready.

📰 APES Magazine – Staying Right Where It Belongs

Our magazine is not moving.

APES Magazine will remain exactly where it started:

It continues to provide:

  • Fun and engaging animal content

  • Interesting species spotlights

  • Welfare discussions

  • Educational articles

  • Multi-species coverage across the animal kingdom

We now offer:

  • Free access tier

  • Paid subscription tier

The magazine serves a different purpose to APES Science. It remains accessible, educational and community-focused.

And yes, we are keeping it right where our readers know to find it.

🌐 MyAPES – A Clean, Streamlined Upgrade

Our MyAPES portal is undergoing a refresh.

We are:

  • Fixing and updating all public-facing links

  • Improving navigation

  • Modernising the look and feel

  • Enhancing user experience

The goal is simple:
Clear access to every APES service without confusion.

Because if you cannot find it, you cannot use it.

🐒 APES Shelter & Rescue – Primate Education Programme

In honour of our latest primate arrival and our long-term commitment to all exotic species in our care, APES Shelter & Rescue is launching something significant.

We are developing a dedicated Primate Education Programme.

This will include:

  • A structured training course

  • Welfare-based care standards

  • Realistic commitment education

  • Husbandry expectations

  • Ethical responsibility guidance

Let us be clear: primates are not entry-level pets.
They are complex, intelligent, socially demanding animals.

If someone is determined to keep one, they must understand what that actually means.

More detailed information will be released once development milestones are met.

🤝 APES Donor & APES Members – One Unified Platform

Two platforms. One destination.

Both:

Will soon redirect to a single, unified website.

This means:

  • Donors and Members together

  • Centralised access

  • Improved account management

  • Clearer communication

  • Stronger community integration

Infrastructure consolidation reduces fragmentation and improves operational resilience.

Further updates will follow once final migration plans are confirmed.

📈 Why This Matters

This is not about adding “more websites.”

This is about:

  • Strengthening education

  • Delivering science properly

  • Supporting responsible ownership

  • Improving user experience

  • Building long-term sustainability

APES is evolving. Intentionally. Strategically.

We appreciate every supporter, donor, member, reader, student, and volunteer who grows with us.

More updates will follow soon.

The next phase of APES is already underway.

Until the next post, thanks for reading and have a great night.
